#UAE #AIfunding - Dubai-based agentic AI start-up Ayan has raised AED 2.2 million ($600k) in pre-seed funding from strategic global business angels. The new funding will help the company expand beyond the Middle East and North Africa. Ayan’s platform tracks how AI assistants describe brands, then acts on that across product pages, campaigns and sales advisers’ phones, and measures what changed. It already serves more than 50 brands across MENA, Europe and North America.
SO WHAT? - Shoppers increasingly ask an AI assistant before they ask a salesperson,, but brands can’t see what AI says about them. Ayan’s pitch is to close that loop: read the AI’s version of a brand, then brief staff and fix content to match. Tools that track AI visibility usually stop at the screen, and in-store tools don’t know what AI said. This is a new kind of brand monitoring tool for our increasingly AI-first world.
KEY POINTS:
Dubai-based brand intelligence startup Ayan raised AED 2.2 million ($600k) in pre-seed funding from strategic global business angels. The company plans to expand rapidly beyond MENA.
Its agentic platform has analysed millions of data points on how AI describes brands, measured against each brand’s positioning. It then acts across product pages, pre-launch campaigns and sales advisers’ phones.
The platform measures what each action changed in AI answers. Customer questions at the counter feed back in and become the next thing Ayan fixes.
Ayan says it already serves more than 50 brands across MENA, Europe and North America. It calls itself the MENA leader in front office intelligence for AI-led buying.
Pablo Charron is founder and CEO. Chakir El Messaoudi co-founded the company and is Chief Growth Officer.
Ayan also announced two new appointments connected with the funding:
Vincent Carvalho now joins as founding board member. He is Chief Growth Officer, M&A Group at IFS and its former President for Asia-Pacific Japan, Middle East and Africa.
Christian Pedersen, Group CEO at Cegid and a former chief product officer at IFS and SAP, joins as adviser.
MAGNiTT data puts AI and AI-enabled company funding in MENA at $678 million in the first half of 2026, up 81% year on year, with the UAE taking 93%.
ZOOM OUT - By all accounts, AI is taking a larger share of MENA venture funding. According to MAGNiTT's H1 2026 review, AI and AI-enabled companies raised $678 million, or 50 percent of all regional venture capital, up from 22 percent a year earlier. The UAE took 93 percent of that total. Deals are getting fewer and bigger: AI transactions fell from 121 to 53, and rounds of $20 million or more were 9 percent of deals but 82 percent of funding. Saudi Arabia draws the most money from MENA-focused funds, with $33 million of the $60 million deployed by 2026-vintage funds. Those funds have deployed only 12 percent of their $1.65 billion target.
