SO WHAT? - Digital Dubai’s Dubai Data & Statistics Establishment has been developing an ambitious strategy where data and statistics are shared seamlessly, safely and securely across government and via an open data programme, The new committee is expected to bring more top-level support and input to ensure that Dubai’s data strategy is implemented across all areas of government. The new committee will streamline data governance, improve coordination across government entities, and enhance operational efficiency.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, The Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, has issued Executive Council Resolution No. (13) of 2025 to establish the Data and Statistics Committee in Dubai.
The Data and Statistics Committee is established under Executive Council Resolution No. (13) of 2025 and will be chaired by Hamad Al Mansoori, Director General of the Digital Dubai Authority, with Younus Abdulaziz Al Nasser as Vice Chairman.
Members of the Committee include: Arif Abdulrahman Ahli, Executive Director of Budget and Planning Division in the Dubai Department of Finance and board director at TECOM; Dr. Mariam Obaid Al Muhairi; Mohammed Yousef Al Mudharreb, CEO of Dubai Roads and Transport corporate technology support services sector; Issa Harib bin Haider, Khalid Ali Al Jallaf, Khalid Ahmed Al Falasi, Omar Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Rashid Obaid Al Sharid, and Majida Ali Rashid.
Other members include key officials from the Dubai State Security Department and the Dubai Electronic Security Center.
The committee is responsible for integrating data governance, improving coordination, and strengthening AI-driven insights across government sectors.
It will enforce compliance with Dubai’s Data Maturity Framework and oversee data standardisation.
The committee will streamline data dissemination and exchange through advanced AI technologies.
Dubai Data and Statistics Establishment will provide technical and administrative support to the committee.

The Resolution is effective immediately and will be published in the Official Gazette. The Resolution replaces Executive Council Decision No. (2) of 2008 concerning the Statistical Coordination Committee.
ZOOM OUT - Sheikh Hamdan announced a new Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence in April 2024 to align all of the emirate's AI initiatives and investments under one strategic plan. The blueprint supports D33, the Dubai Economic Agenda announced in 2023 to generate an annual contribution of AED 100 billion ($27b) to the emirate’s economy from digital transformation. The new Data and Statistics Committee will support the blueprint, by supporting the development of data strategy, whilst coordinating government-wide data transformation and data governance.
