#UAE #metaverse - Dubai's Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority said it has entered into the metaverse with the establishment of its Metaverse HQ, making it the first regulator to have a presence in the emerging digital space. The authority was established under Law no. 4 of 2022, which was announced in March. (The National)
#UAE #biobank - Al Jalila Foundation, a member of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, announced that it will establish the UAE’s first robotic biobank. Automation in biobanks can ensure bio sample quality, increases speed of retreival and protect employees from extreme temperatures. (Emirates News Agency)
#Saudi #marineresearch - Ocean Aero, a manufacturer and service provider of ocean-going Autonomous Underwater and Surface Vehicles (AUSVs), has agreed a partnership with King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) and Saudi Shelf Subsea to support marine research in the Red Sea. #UAE #UAS - The UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has granted the operational approval for the General Directorate of Civil Defence in Dubai to use unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) to support its daily operations.
#UAE #drones - The Generation Division of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) completed over 90 drone flights during 2021 to support the delivery of water and electricity services. DEWA"s drone fleet includes underwater Remote Operated Vehicles (ROV)s that are used for underwater inspection of water intake infrastructure. (Khaleej Times)
