#Qatar #datacentres - Doha-listed investment group Estithmar Holding announced that its contracting arm, Elegancia Contracting and Industries, has won a turnkey contract worth more than QAR 500 million ($137m) to build MEEZA’s newest data centre in Qatar. The facility is designed to host hyperscale cloud providers and high-density AI workloads, expanding Qatar’s digital infrastructure capacity. Elegancia will manage the full delivery lifecycle, from civil works through to testing, commissioning and handover, in two construction phases.
SO WHAT? - Although a smaller facility that we’re used seeing announced in Saudi Arabia or the UAE, the announcement does illustrate the quickening pace of Qatar data centre expansion. Data centre infrastructure build-out has lagged in Qatar, but now there are multiple operators building out capacity.

The contract will be delivered across two phases of construction, with the facility designed to host hyperscale cloud providers and high-density AI workloads.
Elegancia will manage the entire delivery lifecycle under the turnkey model, including site preparation, civil works, structural and architectural construction, mechanical and electrical systems, ICT, security, fire protection, controls integration, testing, commissioning and final handover.
The project draws on multiple specialised units within Elegancia’s industrial ecosystem, including Elegancia Contracting, Elegancia Electromechanical Services, Elegancia Data Center, Elegancia Steel and Consolidated Engineering Systems Company (CESCO).
The facility is expected to strengthen the role of Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP) as a hub for technology and innovation in the country.
Estithmar Holding is a publicly listed Qatari investment group with more than 110 companies spanning healthcare, real estate, hospitality, specialised contracting and financial services, playing a role in Qatar’s national infrastructure and economic diversification agenda.
ZOOM OUT - MEEZA laid out its data centre plans in April 2026, with a strategy to to quadruple capacity over the next four years, funded through Shariah-compliant financing and cash reserves. The company already operates five certified data centres totalling 18MW of capacity. The completion of its latest 4MW M-Vault 4 facility was announced in July. Meanwhile, Meeza’s first 6MW of a flagship 24MW campus in Um Garn due online by the end of 2027, and a 16MW M-Vault 7 facility at Qatar Science and Technology Park nearing final design.
