Fujairah launches Young Techpreneurs initiative to teach AI skills, coding
#UAE #education - The Emirate of Fujairah has launched an innovative technology and entrepreneurship programme targeting Emirati children in school grades 3-9 (i.e. ages 7 to 13 years old). The Young Techpreneurs initiative, directed by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, will be implemented in collaboration with Dubai-based smart learning institution Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU). The three-month program will run from April 6th to July 10th, 2025, combining the fundamentals of AI and coding, machine learning, and other technologies such as cybersecurity, with entrepreneurship.
SO WHAT? - There have already been a variety of Ai and coding initiatives aimed at school students launched in the UAE, both via private and government schools, and led by government departments and tech vendors. This is the first such initiative launched for school children in Fujairah and provides further evidence of how pivotal government leaders across the entire UAE regard the ability to harness AI. This is also a further initiative from the Fujairah government to help position the emirate as an emerging tech hub.
The Young Techpreneurs education initiative has been launched to teach Fujairah school children about AI, coding and entrepreneurship.
The initiative was developed under the directive of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, in collaboration with Dubai-based smart learning institution Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU)
This initiative is designed specifically for the UAE nationals studying in Fujairah from grades 3 to 9 (approximately ages 7 to 13 years old), will run from April 6th to July 10th, 2025, and aims to enroll 200 students.
Young Techpreneurs will focus on three main learning areas, namely fundamentals of AI and coding, advanced programming and machine learning, and tech entrepreneurship. The programme will also touch on other advanced technologies and cybersecurity.
The initiative will use a blended learning approach that combines classroom instruction, remote learning, and collaborative group work, while assessments will be made via multiple methods such as quizzes, practical activities, and final projects, to evaluate both theoretical and practical knowledge.
The Crown Prince's Office has partnered with HBMSU, the first smart learning institution accredited by the UAE Ministry of Education, to deliver world-class digital education.
