Khazna plans over 1GW capacity expansion by 2030
UAE data centre leader announces five-year global expansion
#UAE #GITEXGLOBAL2025 - Khazna Data Centers has announced plans to add more than 1GW (gigawatt) in operational capacity over the next five years. The UAE -based hyperscale digital infrastructure provider will deploy more than 400 megawatts of new capacity across key international markets including Saudi Arabia and Italy. Domestically, Khazna is developing hyperscale facilities in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Ajman, whilst also delivering the infrastructure layer for Stargate UAE, the next-generation AI infrastructure cluster being built as part of the planned 5GW UAE-US AI Campus in Abu Dhabi.
SO WHAT? - As demand for sovereign-ready, AI-optimised infrastructure surges globally, Khazna is well positioned to capitalise on market potential. Not only does the company already manage some 70% of the UAE’s current data centre capacity, but last month it announced that it had secured $2.62 billion in financing to support its expansion. As G42’s infrastructure company, Khazna also has access to increasingly large scale deals, including the Stargate UAE project. With the additional planned data centre capacity announced today, the company could manage 1.5GW in computing power by 2030.
Here are some key details about this announcement:

The company is currently developing several new domestic projects including hyperscale facilities in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Ajman, whilst also delivering the infrastructure layer for Stargate UAE. Khazna announced plans for its Ajman facility, the region’s first AI-optimized data centre, with a 100MW capacity, at GITEX last year.
Khazna has secured $2.62 billion in financing facility supporting its capacity pipeline at home and abroad, accelerating deployment and strengthening long-term resilience as demand for artificial intelligence-optimised infrastructure continues to surge globally.
All new Khazna facilities are engineered to LEED Gold standards, use advanced cooling systems, high recycled material content and energy-efficient design principles. Modular construction methodology enabling faster deployment with significantly reduced embodied carbon and construction waste.
In Italy, Khazna’s upcoming data centre campus near Milan will be powered by Eni’s “Blue Power,” an innovative low-carbon energy solution reflecting the company’s strategy of aligning with local clean energy ecosystems to power artificial intelligence infrastructure responsibly.
According to Khazna, each data centre facility generates more than $320 million in gross domestic product contribution and enables over 1,150 jobs, with indirect benefits to suppliers, contractors and service providers across local ecosystems where new facilities are developed.
Khazna is also introducing training and development programmes designed to equip early-career professionals and reskilled workers with technical, operational and safety competencies needed in modern hyperscale data centre environments.
ZOOM OUT - Khazna Data Centers announced a landmark $2.62 billion financing facility last month in partnership with Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank and FAB (First Abu Dhabi Bank). With a tenor lasting up to ten years, the deal is one of the Middle East and North Africa region’s largest-ever financing deals for digital infrastructure. The facility mirrors strong investor confidence in hyperscale data centre operators. According to Mordor Intelligence, the Middle East and North Africa’s total data centre capacity is set to double over the next five years, with Khazna well positioned to become a regional market leader.
