#UAE #AIskills - Leading UAE commercial bank Emirates NBD has launched a first-of-its-kind ‘National Digital Talent Program’, in conjunction with H.E Omar Sultan AlOlama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications Office. The program aims to help develop a national workforce proficient in AI and related technologies. (Gulf Business)
#Saudi #education - The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority Academy is now accepting registrations for the AI Summer Champions Program, to be held virtually July 17 to Sep. 17. (Arab News)
#Saudi #Hajj - A new robotic service has been launched at the Grand Mosque in Makkah (Mecca) this year to distribute the holy Quran to worshippers as they finish their the annual Hajj pilgrimage. Apparently, the robot finds its way easily through the crowds. (Emirates News Agency)
#Egypt #DX - Egypt will allocate EGP 6.025 billion ($318m) in the budget for the fiscal year 2022-2023 to implement digital transformation and cybersecurity projects, Egyptian Minister of Finance, Mohamed Maait, has announced. (Zawya)
#Lebanon #drones - Lebanese Naval Forces have received eight new drones to integrate into their maritime border security missions along the Middle East nation’s 225 km long coastline. The drones were acquired via a program of the United Nations Office for the Control of Crime and Drugs (UNODC). (Breaking Defense)
#UAE #UAVs - AI pilot technology developer Shield AI is bidding in a technology partnerships tender announced by the UAE defence conglomerate EDGE Group. Shield AI opened an international office in Abu Dhabi this year. (Intelligence Online - subscription)
