#UAE #policy - The UAE's Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications Office has unveiled the Charter for the Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence. The document spells out in simple terms the UAE’s goals for the ethical, safe and responsible development and usage of AI in the UAE. The charter falls under the UAE Strategy for Artificial Intelligence, reflecting the leadership's vision to position the UAE as a global hub for AI innovation. The AI charter was previously approved by the UAE Cabinet in June.
SO WHAT? - The launch of the UAE Charter for the Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence is another milestone in the country’s journey to harness AI technologies for national development. One of the first countries to publish a national AI strategy in 2017, the UAE has consistently added to and improved education, knowledge resources and guidelines at al levels. Launched during the sixth annual UAE AI Camp, which brings together thousands of students to learn about AI, the simple guidelines are designed to be of use to the widest possible audience. This continuing policy of inclusion and growing local knowledge about AI has become a key differentiator for the UAE in the global AI race.
