Saudi to build 500MW AI factories with NVIDIA tech
New Saudi AI company to buy thousands of advanced NVIDIA GPUs
#SaudiArabia #datacentres - Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) new subsidiary HUMAIN has formed a strategic partnership with US-based AI computing infrastructure leader NVIDIA to establish massive ‘AI factories’ across the Kingdom. The landmark agreement involves deploying several hundred thousand NVIDIA GPUs over five years with a projected capacity of 500 megawatts, beginning with an 18,000 NVIDIA GB300 Grace Blackwell AI supercomputer. This collaboration aims to position Saudi Arabia as a global AI powerhouse while accelerating innovation and digital transformation worldwide.
SO WHAT? - This partnership represents one of the largest investments in AI infrastructure globally and significantly advances Saudi Arabia's AI compute capacity. By building sovereign AI capabilities at this scale, the Kingdom is positioning itself to compete with established global AI powers, while creating a foundation for economic diversification beyond oil dependency through high-value technology exports and services. HUMAIN’s new AI factories will help accelerate to that effort.
HUMAIN, the new national AI company formed by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), has formed a strategic partnership with US-based AI computing infrastructure leader NVIDIA to establish ‘AI factories’ across the country.
HUMAIN's initial deployment will feature an 18,000 NVIDIA GB300 Grace Blackwell AI supercomputer with NVIDIA InfiniBand networking, establishing the foundation for what will become one of the world's most powerful AI computing infrastructures.
The partnership plans to deploy hundreds of thousands of NVIDIA's most advanced GPUs over the next five years, creating AI factories with a projected capacity of up to 500 megawatts, placing Saudi Arabia among the global leaders in AI compute capabilities.
NVIDIA's Omniverse platform will be implemented as a multi-tenant system to drive physical AI and robotics development through simulation and digital twin technologies, enabling industries like manufacturing, logistics and energy to accelerate their transformation.
The collaboration includes large-scale workforce development initiatives to train thousands of Saudi citizens in advanced AI, simulation, robotics and digital twin technologies, addressing the critical talent gap in emerging technologies.
