SO WHAT? - As the Kingdom’s debut Arabic-first enterprise data governance platform, Governata turns alignment with the National Data Management Office, National Data Index and Personal Data Protection Law into strategic advantage through AI-driven data management software reinforcing data quality, governance and classification. Since launching in mid-2025, Governata has signed multiple agreements with major government entities and leading private-sector organisations across the Kingdom. The new funding will accelerate Governata’s product roadmap, enhance AI-driven decisioning capabilities and support regional expansion, with the next phase integrating advanced machine learning and generative AI models into its architecture for faster, more accurate enterprise decision-making.
The platform is built to align with requirements of Saudi Arabia’s National Data Management Office, National Data Index and Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL), enabling firms to monitor compliance, protect and classify data for appropriate generative AI adoption.
Governata provides a data classification framework aligned with National Data Management Office standards including Top Secret, Confidential, Restricted and General categories, applying clear policies to all data assets to ensure secure, compliant and efficient data management.
Since launching business development in mid-2025, Governata has signed multiple agreements with major government entities and leading private-sector organisations across the Kingdom, whilst forming strategic partnerships with technology companies and system integrators to expand delivery capacity.
The platform has global aspirations with plans to release new products on top of its foundational data governance software, including a unified AI-driven enterprise decision-making platform for the MENA region beyond core governance capabilities.

ZOOM OUT - Governata was officially launched in July 2025 by co-founders Djamel Mohand, former Chief Operating Officer of restaurant management platform Foodics, alongside data governance veterans Jehad Senan and Khalid Almudayfir. Mohand brought over 16 years of experience in investment advisory and scaling technology startups after helping scale Foodics to serve more than 30,000 restaurants across 25 countries, whilst Senan contributed 20 years of data analytics and governance experience and Almudayfir brought over 12 years leading national data governance and AI frameworks across public and private sectors. The founding team combined complementary expertise to create Saudi Arabia's first Arabic-language data governance software specifically designed to help local organisations comply with the kingdom's data regulations whilst preparing for AI adoption.
