Annual UAE AI Award opens for entries from government, research and AI leaders
#UAE #UAEAIAward - The UAE Council for Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain has officially announced the second edition of the UAE Artificial Intelligence Award 2025, which will honour federal, local and semi-governmental entities, academic institutions, private sector organisations, and individual AI leaders, Now in its second year, the programme features five award categories: AI Scientific Research, AI Leader, Best Government-Private Partnership In AI, AI Solutions Developed In The UAE. and Excellence In AI-Powered Services. The inaugural edition of the award was held last year and attracted over 225 submissions. The deadline for submissions for the 2025 UAE AI Award is August 31st.
SO WHAT? - The UAE government has systematically introduced measures to accelerate adoption of AI, drive innovation, use AI to improve government performance, upskill government employees at all levels and pioneer new ways to leverage AI. The UAE AI Award both reinforces the government’s commitment to driving innovation and excellence in AI, and recognises those who have made outstanding contributions to this national effort.

Submissions undergo evaluation based on innovation level, AI ethics compliance, AI maturity, scalability and adaptability, plus potential impact across different sectors and applications.
The Excellence in AI-powered Services category focuses on solutions enhancing service quality through artificial intelligence, enabling data-driven decision-making and improving operational efficiency whilst reducing costs.
The AI Solutions Developed in the UAE category highlights locally-created solutions reflecting Emirati identity in concept and implementation, promoting domestic innovation capabilities.
The Best Government-Private Partnership category recognises successful collaborations between government entities and private companies developing AI-based solutions that accelerate innovation and enhance service quality.
The AI Leader category honours government professionals championing innovative AI solutions, enhancing service delivery, building team capabilities and achieving measurable results improving government performance.
The first edition of the UAE AI Award, held in 2024, attracted over 225 submissions with 12 projects reaching the final round, with winners including Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Advanced Technology Research Council, Abu Dhabi Mobility, and Dubai logistics company DP World.
ZOOM OUT - The UAE has pursued comprehensive national AI strategy delivering measurable economic and social benefits through a wide variety of education, public and government programmes. Recently Emirates announced the deployment of the world's first AI-powered Proactive Government Performance System, processing over 150 million data points monthly to generate more than 50,000 predictive insights annually, achieving projected 60% performance improvements whilst saving 250,000 man-hours per year. Starting in January 2026, the National Artificial Intelligence System set to serve as an advisory member at all federal government and public sector board meetings. The UAE AI Awards seeks to celebrate the champions, implementors and innovators driving the country’s national AI strategy.
