#UAE #startups - Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (also known as SPARK) has launched the Sharjah Advanced AI Industrial Accelerator. Announced during AI Everything Abu Dhabi, the programme backs AI-driven industrial firms from the UAE and abroad. It aims to turn AI models and research into pilots, production systems and scalable businesses, supporting Sharjah’s positioning as a regional base for technology commercialisation. The top three companies win also win cash prizes of $50,000, $25,000 and $15,000.
SO WHAT? - Despite the growth in the number of accelerators for AI stratups there are still few Gulf accelerator programmes that target sectors such as manufacturing, mobility, water or food technology. So the Sharjah Advanced AI Industrial Accelerator helps fill that gap. Winners get lab access, test sites and introductions to government and industry customers, which could prove to be more valuable to startups than the cash prizes. The programme supports the UAE’s wider push to encourage Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies.
KEY POINTS:
SPARK (Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park) announced the Sharjah Advanced AI Industrial Accelerator at AI Everything Abu Dhabi. It runs under the theme “Built for the Super Intelligence Era” and focuses on practical industrial outcomes.
The new programme supports both startups and established companies that apply advanced AI to real economic and industrial problems. It aims to move AI solutions from prototypes to pilots, from pilots to production, and from Sharjah to global markets.
Sharjah Advanced AI Industrial Accelerator will award cash prizes to the top three companies: $50,000 for first place, $25,000 for second and $15,000 for third. The money will fund pilots, product development, market entry and scale-up through the SPARK ecosystem.
Selected companies get access to SOILAB, SPARK’s prototyping and fabrication facility, plus laboratories and applied R&D facilities. Participants also receive specialist mentorship and discounted or complimentary licensing and business setup services.
Company support extends to pilots, testbeds, customer discovery and corporate introductions. Companies will also get access to pathways to government and industry challenge owners, investor introductions, partnership development and market-access help in the UAE and beyond.
The programme uses a twin-track model. One track approaches established global technology companies, industrial leaders and scale-ups directly. The other track is an international open call for startups, scale-ups, research spin-outs and AI-enabled industrial firms.
The accelerator will judge applicants on technology, industrial use case, scalability, team, intellectual property, potential for regional deployment and ability to create strategic or commercial value from the UAE.
Priority sectors for the programme include advanced manufacturing and robotics, smart mobility and logistics, healthcare and life sciences, water and sustainability, agri-tech and food, and AI infrastructure. SPARK is also seeking partners, investors, universities and R&D organisations to offer challenges, testbeds and mentorship.
