Tarjama& secures $15m to scale Arabic.AI across industries
New funding to allow Arabic.AI to scale faster to fill the Arabic language gap
#UAE #LLMs - UAE-based language solutions technology company Tarjama& has raised $15 million in Series A funding to accelerate its Arabic.AI agentic ecosystem. The investment round was led by MENA's leading venture capital firm Global Ventures, with participation from Wamda Capital, TA Ventures, Phaze Ventures, Golden Gate Ventures, and Endeavor Catalyst. The funding will power expansion of Tarjama's Arabic-native AI platform, which outperforms major global AI models on Arabic language tasks and is focused on supporting enterprise tasks.
SO WHAT? - New of Tarjama&’s successful funding round comes just one month after the launch of Arabic.AI at Dubai AI Week. The Arabic platform is built to automate and optimise business workflows in Arabic across key sectors such as government, healthcare, finance, and media. Aiming to fill a longstanding Arabic language gap in enterprise AI, Tarjama& will now be able to scale its operations faster to capture more market share whilst competition remains limited.
UAE- and Saudi-based language technology company Tarjama& has secured $15 million to scale its go-to-market strategy for Arabic.AI, an agentic AI platform, designed to help organisations solve complex business processes with AI agents tailored for the region’s unique language needs.
The Series A funding round was led by Global Ventures, with participation from international investors including Wamda Capital, TA Ventures, Phaze Ventures, Golden Gate Ventures, and Endeavor Catalyst.
Funds will accelerate the rollout of Tarjama's recently launched Arabic.AI platform, powered by Pronoia V2, an Arabic-first Large Language Model that outperforms global models like GPT-4o, DeepSeek-V3, and Cohere on Arabic language tasks.
Pronoia combines high-performance language processing with enterprise-grade security and cost efficiency, running on a single GPU which enables secure on-premises deployment—crucial for data-sensitive industries in the region.
Arabic.AI offers a comprehensive enterprise solution through three service models: direct licensing of the Pronoia LLM, workflow integration options, and fully customised AI implementations tailored to specific business requirements.
Founded in 2009 by CEO Nour Al Hassan, Tarjama& has established itself as a leading Arabic solutions provider with operations in over 30 markets, processing more than two billion words across 50 languages and 22 Arabic dialects.
The company has demonstrated strong commercial success, reporting 20% CAGR revenue growth over the past three years while maintaining profitability—a rare achievement for AI startups in the region.
The company plans to double its research and engineering teams, expand sovereign infrastructure with specialised models and agents across industries, and launch an AI Academy to train hundreds of enterprise and government leaders.
ZOOM OUT - Tarjama& has bet its future on its proprietary Arabic-first large language model Pronoia, which was purpose-built to provide high-performance language processing with enterprise-grade security and efficiency. The model is the culmination of nearly eight years of focused development in Arabic language AI, beginning with the development of Tarjama's first machine translation model in 2017. Unlike general-purpose models that struggle with Arabic business contexts, Pronoia's architecture is specifically fine-tuned for business, with a focus on regulated industries such as legal and medical. Pronoia v2 was launched last month, providing enhanced Arabic language performance and more capabilities beyond translation. Benchmarking conducted by Tarjama& shows Pronoia v2 outperforming GPT-4o, DeepSeek 70B, and Cohere 7B.
