SO WHAT? - This isn't the UAE's first official CAIO trip to Silicon Valley. A similar mission ran in September 2025, when 50 Chief AI Officers spent ten days meeting leaders from global technology firms, led by Mohammed bin Taliah, UAE Chief of Government Services. A year on, a CAIO delegation is back in the US, this time with agentic AI as the specific focus. The US trips to Silicon Valley are part of a wider programme to build capacity in AI management across the public sector.

Omar Sultan Al Olama said the focus is on empowering Chief AI Officers to lead AI adoption across government by expanding knowledge partnerships and deepening exposure to advanced global models, translating that knowledge into practical pathways for their entities.
Ahead of the trip, the UAE Government’s Artificial Intelligence Office and the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence ran a preparatory session for the Chief AI Officers, covering the visit programme, priority destinations and intended outcomes.
The delegation’s engagements will cover both the opportunities and the challenges of deploying agentic AI at scale, alongside discussions on safe and responsible use.
The mission reflects the UAE’s broader approach of embedding specialised AI leadership across government entities to keep pace with technological change at its source.
