#UAE #education - The UAE is sending 50 Chief AI Officers from federal and local government entities on a ten day mission to Silicon Valley to meet with leaders from eight major US technology companies. Organised by the Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications Office alongside Dubai Centre for AI, the initiative aims to provide Chief AI Officers with direct exposure to cutting-edge innovations, technology trends, while fostering the exchange of best practices. UAE CAIOs will meet with leaders from Amazon, Google, IBM, Meta, Microsoft, NVIDIA, OpenAI and Palantir.
SO WHAT? - Although UAE government officials regularly meet with leading technology companies both in the Emirates and in the USA, this is the first visit to Silicon Valley for CAIOs from across the government sector. Last year, the UAE mandated that all government entities should appoint a CAIO in an effort to bolster leadership for AI adoption. Sending the 50 newly appointed CAIOs to meet US tech leaders is part of the effort to build capacity and best practices in that function.
Here are some key details about the Silicon Valley mission:
