In a joint UAE-US government statement following the meeting, the presidents confirmed common principles for cooperation, which include: safe, secure, and trustworthy AI; ethical AI research and development; regulatory frameworks; AI protection and cybersecurity; bilateral investment in AI and AI infrastructure; talent development and exchange; clean energy sources for AI; and to help close digital divides responsibly and sustainably.

Following a meeting on Monday, September 23rd between President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. and President H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to advance safe, secure, and trustworthy artificial intelligence, U.S. Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs Jake Sullivan and UAE National Security Advisor H.H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan issued a statement on AI cooperation between the two countries.
The joint statement reconfirmed the shared intention of the UAE and the USA to promote cooperation in AI and related technologies, and also included a commitment to develop a more detailed government-to-government memorandum of understanding on AI.

Facilitate opportunities for trusted trade and investment - Support and facilitate bilateral investment and efficient licensing for AI infrastructure.
Talent development and exchange - Foster talent development via joint training initiatives for AI researchers, engineers and policymakers.
Promote clean energy for the AI future - Build on the U.S.-UAE Partnership for Accelerating Clean Energy (PACE) to meet the energy demands of AI systems with clean energy sources.
Support AI for sustainable development in developing countries - Foster inclusive, responsible, and sustainable capacity building globally.
