Warba Bank launches voice AI banking assistant
Bdr AI executes transfers and generates payment links, understands Kuwaiti dialect
#Kuwait #banking - Kuwaiti Islamic bank Warba Bank has launched Bdr AI, an agentic AI banking assistant built into its mobile app that lets retail customers complete transactions using natural-language voice or text commands in Kuwaiti Arabic dialect or English. The bank describes it as the first agentic AI system in the world to execute banking transactions directly by voice, covering instant transfers via WAMD, transfers between accounts, payments to saved beneficiaries and PayMe link generation. Every transaction via the AI assistant requires explicit on-screen confirmation before execution.
SO WHAT? - Most bank chatbots answer questions or point customers toward the right menu, they don’t actually move money. Bdr AI executing real transactions by voice, with confirmation built in rather than full autonomy is different. Meanwhile, its capability in Arabic or English, including the Kuwaiti Arabic dialect should help to ensure genuine everyday usability. This is a clear win for Warba Bank, bringing to market a GenAI voice capabilities in advance of regional banking leaders.

Warba Bank has launched Bdr AI, an agentic AI banking assistant integrated into its mobile app, enabling customers to complete supported banking transactions using voice or text commands.
Bdr AI supports Arabic, including conversational Kuwaiti dialect, and English, switching seamlessly between the two during a conversation.
The assistant can execute instant money transfers via WAMD, transfers between a customer’s own Warba accounts, transfers to saved beneficiaries, and generate PayMe links for others to send payment.
Every transaction is displayed on screen for review and requires the customer’s explicit confirmation before execution, operating within the bank’s existing security and control framework.

Anwar Badr Al-Ghaith, Deputy CEO for Digital Transformation and Operations at Warba Bank, said continued investment in scalable digital infrastructure remains a core priority alongside maintaining security standards.
Bdr AI is available around the clock within the Warba Bank app on iOS and Android, requiring no branch visit.
Separately, Warba Bank announced it has joined the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) as an observer, giving it access to policy labs and working groups on financial innovation in support of Kuwait Vision 2035.
