du Launches AI Park, targeting 1GW capacity
500,000 sqm Warsan Park to house AI research, incubation and compute
#UAE #GITEXGLOBAL2025 - Leading UAE telecommunications and digital services provider du has announced two major infrastructure projects to advance the UAE’s sovereign AI ambitions: the launch of anAI Park and the introduction of National Hybrid AI under du Tech. The AI Park, a 500,000 square metre facility in Warsan, will deliver up to 1 GW (gigawatt) of capacity over time through liquid-cooled hyperscale data centres. The park will also host AI research laboratories, start-up incubators and sovereign hybrid AI production clusters.
du Tech’s National Hybrid AI platform provides government entities and enterprises with integrated services to develop AI applications in their chosen cloud environment. Applications can be deployed on du Tech’s sovereign infrastructure, combining sovereign-secure AI production with advanced 5G and fibre networks, hyperscaler partnerships and system integrator ecosystem support.
SO WHAT? - The two announcements position du as a premier infrastructure provider for sovereign AI deployment, leveraging its existing telecommunications assets and National Hypercloud platform to address critical barriers organisations face scaling AI applications. The five-year phased deployment of the AI Park establishes Dubai, with a planned 1GW capacity, aims to be a regional hub for AI research and innovation, attracting startups and enterprises. Meanwhile, du’s National Hybrid AI provides UAE-based sovereign infrastructure aligned with national data governance and security policies.
Here are some key details about the announcement:
UAE telecom and digital services provider du has announced two major infrastructure milestones to advance the UAE’s sovereign AI ambitions: the launch of du’s AI Park and the introduction of National Hybrid AI under du Tech.
du unveiled a comprehensive sovereign AI strategy at GITEX GLOBAL 2025 comprising a 500,000 square metre AI Park in Warsan and the launch of National Hybrid AI platform under its du Tech subsidiary.
du’s AI Park will feature multiple liquid-cooled hyperscale data centres delivering up to 1 GW of capacity over time, designed to support demanding AI workloads in sovereign and fully compliant environments. The park will also host research laboratories, start-up incubators and hybrid AI production clusters.
National Hybrid AI combines du Tech’s sovereign-secure AI production environment with the National Hypercloud, advanced 5G and fibre networks and hyperscaler partnerships. The platform also has a robust ecosystem of system integrators to enable organisations to develop and deploy applications securely.
The hybrid platform enables government entities and enterprises to develop AI applications in their cloud of choice, and on du Tech’s sovereign infrastructure, accelerating transition from development to production environments.
du’s AI Park will benefit from du’s local and global cable connectivity including international subsea and terrestrial links and global submarine cables, enabling it to function as a regional digital hub whilst maintaining full auditability, transparency and governance compliance.
Both initiatives comply with UAE AI data and security policies, ensuring auditability and transparency across mission-critical workloads.
du’s AI Park and National Hybrid AI are designed to support the UAE’s ambition to become a world-leading AI-first nation, providing cost-effective, high-performance sovereign solutions.
ZOOM OUT - Sovereign AI infrastructure has emerged as a strategic priority for nations seeking to balance innovation adoption with data governance and technological self-determination. As a result, new government policies are driving investments by telecommunications carriers and government-backed entities into sovereign AI environments across the Middle East, and globally.
