Dubai to host 2026 AI World Series Awards
New honours program launched to recognise enterprise AI impact
#UAE #awards - Dubai is set to host the third annual AI World Series Awards on 8 October 2026, recognising global innovation using artificial intelligence. Organised by the Dubai-based AI for Business Institute and supported by Ecosystem Partner Dubai Silicon Oasis, the event aims to benchmark global innovation and scale measurable implementation. The programme celebrates the transition of AI from experimental pilots to core business capabilities, seeking to validate sovereign AI development, operational embedding, and responsible regulatory frameworks.
Meanwhile, the Institute has launched the AI for Business Institute Honours designed to recognise organisations that are deploying AI with measurable business impact. The programme recognises defined contributions rather than ranking winners. Each participating organisation will be acknowledged for its specific, stated achievement, with a focus on clarity of impact and credibility of execution.
SO WHAT? - This year’s AI World Series comes at a critical time for organisations globally, as they move rapidly from pilots and experimentation to enterprise-wide implementations. With the number of entries doubling to 138 last year, the expansion of this programme to include the new Honours track aims to cater for increased market demand for third-party validation of AI ROI. For leadership, this transition from experimentation to certified implementation is essential for maintaining stakeholder confidence and navigating an increasingly complex regulatory environment.
Here are some key points about the AI World Series 2026:
The third annual AI World Series Awards is scheduled to take place in Dubai on 8 October 2026, organised by the Dubai-based AI for Business Institute and supported by Ecosystem Partner Dubai Silicon Oasis. The event aims to benchmark global innovation and scale measurable implementation.
The AI for Business Institute has officially opened applications for the 2026 cycle, with a registration deadline set for 4 May 2026 and the finalist shortlist scheduled for announcement on 3 June 2026.
Last year’s ceremony saw a 100% year-on-year increase in participation, recording 138 entries, signaling that global enterprises are moving decisively toward scaled, measurable AI deployment across all sectors.
Middle Eastern participants secured nine category wins in 2025, a fact that underscores the region’s rapid emergence as a centre for practical innovation and a leader in significant digital transformation investments compared to traditional tech hubs.
This year’s AI World Series introduces the AI for Business Institute Honours, allows companies to define their own categories, focusing on specific stated achievements and clarity of impact rather than traditional head-to-head competitive rankings.
This dual-track recognition system separates the independently judged flagship awards from the Honours programme, ensuring that teams can receive public acknowledgement for specific milestones, such as transforming customer experience or building sovereign AI capabilities.
The judging process for the flagship AI World Series awards is conducted by independent experts using a certified scoring methodology, providing a robust framework for CIOs and CTOs to benchmark their digital transformation progress against international peers.
The 12 categories for this year’s AI World Series awards are:
AI Solution of the Year
AI for Business Transformation
AI for Operational Excellence
AI-Enabled Product or Platform
Data, Analytics & AI Insights
AI Infrastructure & Enabling Technology
AI Ethics, Governance & Responsible AI
AI for Risk, Fraud & Security
AI for Customer Engagement & Experience
AI Innovation Startup / Emerging Company
Best Conversational AI Implementation
AI Workforce Transformation
AI for Business Institute was established in 2024 to bridge the gap between technical AI development and commercial application, providing resources such as self-assessment tools and independent consultancy for global business leaders.
ZOOM OUT - Beyond the individual success stories, global enterprise data reveals a significant execution gap in the transition to an intelligent economy. According to PwC’s 29th Global CEO Survey, while innovation is central to 50 percent of corporate strategies, 56 percent of chief executives have yet to realise tangible revenue or cost benefits from their AI investments. This stagnation is often attributed to a lack of “AI foundations”, specifically the absence of formalised roadmaps and risk frameworks. Only 12 percent of organisations currently report both increased margins and reduced costs, highlighting that true value remains reserved for those moving from isolated, tactical projects to enterprise-scale, strategic deployment.
