Dubai’s RTA hits AED 5.3 billion in Digital Revenue in 2025
The 20% growth signals advancing transformation to AI-driven mobility ecosystem
#UAE #digitaltransformation – Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) generated AED 5.3 billion ($1.4b) in revenue through digital channels in 2025, a 20.6 percent increase on 2024, with 628 million transactions completed across its six-channel digital ecosystem. Digital channel adoption reached 96 percent and customer happiness scored 98 percent. RTA achieved Level 5 on the Government of Dubai’s Digital Maturity Index, the highest level across Dubai’s public sector, and is moving towards a integrated digital ecosystem driven by data and artificial intelligence. The RTA completed more than 628 million transactions (a 13% rise year on year) across 105 digital services offered through six channels.
Digital channel adoption reached 96% across RTA’s customer base, with a customer happiness index of 98%, showing broad acceptance of digital services as the primary way to access and complete transport-related transactions in Dubai.
RTA also achieved Level 5 on the emirate’s Digital Maturity Index in 2025, the highest level recorded across the entire Government of Dubai.
The RTA Dubai app surpassed 1.2 million active users in 2025, with annual usage rising to 68 million visits: a 144% increase from 2024. Smart app usage accounted for more than 25% of all service transactions, itself a 40% year-on-year increase.
18 new services were launched through the RTA Dubai app in 2025, while journey planning and enquiry service requests rose to 48 million, representing 48% growth. The app won the Best Application of Tech – Public Sector award at the Global Business Tech Awards.
The RTA”s virtual assistant Mahboub now offers 32 interactive services following Phase 3 enhancements, contributing to a 20.6% increase in transactions and an 8.1% rise in revenue collected through the virtual assistant channel. A new Madinati service, using computer vision and generative AI, was launched via Mahboub on WhatsApp.
Smart kiosks surpassed one million transactions for the first time in 2025, generating over AED 425 million in revenue (an 11% increase), while four new interactive kiosks were launched at Customer Happiness Centres.
RTA expanded its integration across Dubai’s shared government platforms, adding or enhancing services on Dubai Now, Invest in Dubai, Visit Dubai, Build in Dubai, and S’hail app, supporting the emirate’s connected one-government model.
The next phase of RTA’s digital strategy will focus on expanding AI and emerging technologies in service design and delivery, and deepening integration with government digital platforms to build what the authority describes as an advanced digital ecosystem supporting sustainable growth.
ZOOM OUT - Dubai’s RTA launched its Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2030 last year, announcing 81 projects targeting 30 percent travel time reductions, 40 percent productivity increases and 20 percent operational cost savings by 2030. The comprehensive strategy builds on over 40 AI use cases deployed since 2017 and operates across six pillars including smart mobility, intelligent traffic and cognitive licensing. RTA’s Big Data Platform now manages 670 terabytes of data integrated with 49 systems, whilst the authority has received multiple regional awards for AI innovation, positioning Dubai’s transport sector at the forefront of artificial intelligence adoption globally.
