G42 merges group companies; DIFC corporate AI accelerator

Lots of news this week, including some late news from a merger announced by G42 yesterday! The Abu Dhabi technology holding group has merged G42 Cloud, Inception and Injazat to form a new entity: Core42! The resulting entity will provide services across cloud infrastructure, AI and data, plus professional and managed services with G42 Group CTO Kiril Evtimov taking the helm as Core42 CEO.
In other news, DIFC has just launched a corporate AI accelerator to help companies adopt AI and embrace innovation. The Dubai Assembly for Generative AI is also taking place this week. Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi has announced a new smart mobility industrial cluster! And lots more!

DIFC launches AI accelerator for Dubai corporates
#UAE #innovation - Dubai AI and Web3 Campus at Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) has launched a new Artificial Intelligence Transformation Programme to empower Dubai-based corporations to adopt AI and embrace innovation. The accelerator will both empower companies to introduce technology innovations and facilitate partnerships with startups. (Middle East AI News)
#UAE #M&A - G42, Abu Dhabi's AI-focused technology holding and investment company, has merged its subsidiaries G42 Cloud, the recently re-branded applied research arm Inception and Injazat into a new company called Core42. The resulting entity will provide services across cloud infrastructure, AI and data, plus professional and managed services. #UAE #AVs - Abu Dhabi has announced a plan to establish a Smart & Autonomous Vehicle Industries cluster, or SAVI. The new cluster could create 30,000 to 50,000 jobs and contribute AED 90 billion ($24.5b) to AED 120 billion ($32.67b) to the UAE economy. (Middle East AI News)
#Saudi #ATHKAR - Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Education in partnership with the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) and Mawhiba, launched an Artificial Intelligence Hour, targeting more than 1,300 public and private schools across the Kingdom. #Iraq #AIstrategy - Iraq's national artificial intelligence strategy is currently being reviewed in draft and will soon be finalised, according to the country's Council of Ministers.
