#SaudiArabia #LEAP5 - Saudi national AI company HUMAIN has made a strategic investment in and partnership with enterprise AI technology provider Arabic.AI and translation technology firm Tarjama&. The deal combines HUMAIN’s AI infrastructure and models with the two companies’ Arabic language translation and document intelligence technology. The partnership targets three priority areas for Saudi enterprise customers: a translation management platform, an archive digitisation engine for converting legacy documents into searchable Arabic knowledge, and document intelligence agents that read and draft contracts, tenders and filings.
SO WHAT? - Arabic is one of the hardest languages for enterprise AI to handle well, given its dialectal variation and the volume of handwritten or degraded historical documents many Saudi institutions still hold. Many global AI models struggle with Arabic fluency and accuracy, while Arabic-focused models often fall short when it comes to business use cases. Rather than build translation and document intelligence tools from scratch, HUMAIN is buying into a group that has spent close to two decades solving exactly that problem, which gets Arabic-specific enterprise AI products to market faster than building them in-house would.
KEY POINTS:
HUMAIN has made a strategic investment in and signed a partnership with enterprise AI technology provider Arabic.AI and associated translation technology firm Tarjama&.
The partnership’s three initial focus areas are a translation management system with enforced glossaries and compounding translation memory, an archive digitisation engine capable of accurately capturing handwritten and degraded script, and document intelligence agents that perform clause-level extraction and automated compliance checks on contracts and filings.
HUMAIN and Arabic.AI plan to work with early enterprise customers to bring these solutions to the Saudi market, drawing on more than 18 years of combined language technology and enterprise delivery expertise.
Arabic.AI brings Cleverso, its Arabic-first translation management system, alongside its own Arabic translation models and a delivery model built to embed language technology directly into enterprise operations.
Tareq Amin, CEO of HUMAIN, said the partnership is focused on turning proven Arabic language technology into reliable, production-ready solutions that enterprises can deploy at scale.
Nour Al Hassan, Founder and CEO of Arabic.AI, said Arabic is where enterprise AI is tested hardest, and that the partnership aims to put Arabic-first AI into the hands of Saudi organisations moving from ambition to production.
ZOOM OUT - HUMAIN's strategic investment comes over a year after Tarjama&'s last funding milestone. In May 2025, the UAE- and Saudi-based company raised $15 million in a Series A round led by Global Ventures, with participation from Wamda Capital, TA Ventures, Phaze Ventures, Golden Gate Ventures, and Endeavor Catalyst, to scale its Arabic.AI platform. That round came just a month after Arabic.AI's launch, built around Pronoia V2, an Arabic-first large language model the company said outperforms GPT-4o, DeepSeek-V3 and Cohere on Arabic-language tasks while running on a single GPU for secure on-premises deployment. Founded in 2009, Tarjama& already had a track record to point to: operations in more than 30 markets, over two billion words processed across 50 languages and 22 Arabic dialects.
