'ruya Bank' goes live with Agentic AI services
Three use cases now live in production, bank-wide AI roadmap targets fast roll-out
#UAE #banking - Ajman-headquartered Islamic digital bank ruya has partnered with AI company Magure to build an AI-native bank, with three agentic AI use cases already live in production. AI agents handle document analysis, verification and case summaries for business account onboarding, along with several other transaction workflows, while keeping a human reviewer in the loop for every decision. The entire capability runs inside ruya’s private cloud using open-source large language models, with the bank retaining full ownership of the underlying AI.
SO WHAT? - Many banks have treated AI as a series of one-off projects, each with its own governance rebuilt from scratch. Instead, ruya has deployed a single AI governance layer across the bank based on Magure’s MagOneAI platform. Combined with the bank’s data-sovereignty model, which hosts everything in-house with no personal data leaving the bank’s infrastructure, ruya has created an internal regulated live production environment. This should allow ruya to deploy further agentic AI solutions at speed, whilst ensuring compliance with regulation and protection of customer data.
KEY POINTS:
Islamic digital bank ruya has partnered with Dubai-based enterprise AI company Magure to build an AI-native bank, beginning with three agentic AI use cases already live in production.
The bank’s agentic AI roll-out is built on Magure’s flagship platform MagOneAI, a sovereign enterprise agentic AI platform. AI agents already execute business account onboarding, document verification and transaction processing, with human reviewers retained for every decision that matters.
The entire AI capability runs inside ruya’s own private cloud on open-source large language models, meaning no personally identifiable customer information leaves the bank’s infrastructure.
The partnership’s AI roadmap extends beyond the initial use cases to collections, compliance, credit support, a customer AI assistant, personalisation and analytics. A private internal assistant for employees grounded in the bank’s own knowledge, called plus RuyaAI, is also planned.
The bank’s vision is to make artificial intelligence part of its foundation rather than run isolated AI projects, while maintaining the ethical and Shari’ah-compliant standards.
According to Magure, the lack of legacy banking infrastructure at ruya allowed it to build AI into the bank’s foundation rather than bolt it onto existing systems.
The agentic AI roll-out is designed around the Central Bank of the UAE’s expectations for responsible AI in licensed financial institutions, including board-level governance, transparency, human oversight of high-impact decisions and consumer protection.
ruya launched in 2024 and is headquartered in Ajman, positioning itself around fairness, transparency and financial inclusion for individuals, entrepreneurs and small businesses.
Magure serves more than 80 enterprise customers across government, financial services and healthcare with over 60 AI deployments in production.
