UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan visited Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) on Friday in Abu Dhabi’s Masdar City, emphasising AI’s role in the country’s national development.
In remarks made at the university, Sheikh Mohamed underscored AI’s role in strengthening the UAE’s knowledge-based economy and ensuring sustainable growth.
The visit included a tour of research facilities, where AI projects in energy, climate, medicine, genetics, media, and robotics were showcased. MBZUAI’s entrepreneurship centre also presented two start-ups working on AI-driven innovations.
The university ranks among the world’s top 10 in AI research fields, including machine learning, computer vision, and robotics.
MBZUAI was established to develop AI talent, foster an innovation ecosystem, and act as a strategic think tank for both public and private sectors.
