#UAE #accelerator - Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), the Dubai government’s future-focused innovation body, has launched the Agentic AI for Government Services Accelerator under its Dubai Future Accelerators programme. Organised by Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI), the first phase of the pgoramme brings together 33 Dubai Government entities to assess more than 300 public-facing use cases for agentic AI. The aim is to prototype and deploy services faster, simplify customer journeys and keep Dubai among the world’s most future-ready cities. Participants will work with technology companies certified under the Dubai AI Seal. No funding figures were disclosed.
SO WHAT? - Most governments are still running agentic AI pilots in isolated departments. Dubai aims to enroll 33 entities in one structured agentic AI development process, with a shared pipeline of private suppliers and the involvement of a security regulator from the start. Dubai Future Foundation aims to leverage the accelerator programme to shorten the path from idea to live agentic AI service. This will also mean that weak use cases get filtered out early, saving time overall.
KEY POINTS:
Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) has announced the Agentic AI for Government Services Accelerator on 5 October 2026. It sits under Dubai Future Accelerators and supports Dubai Government entities in prototyping and deploying services powered by agentic AI.
The first phase involves 33 Dubai Government entities. Together they will assess more than 300 public-facing use cases, picking those with the greatest potential for further development using agentic AI, with a focus on effectiveness and reach.
The Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI), an initiative overseen by DFF, organises the programme. It works with Digital Dubai, the emirate’s digital government authority, and the Dubai Electronic Security Centre (DESC), its cybersecurity regulator.
Participating entities will work with technology companies certified under the Dubai AI Seal. DCAI launched the Seal to accelerate growth in Dubai’s AI sector by recognising trusted AI companies.
The programme uses the Dubai Future Accelerators operating model, which prioritises speed and precision in designing, developing and deploying government services. Therefore entities can be expected to build agentic AI services in significantly shorter timeframes while keeping quality and digital compliance standards.
Digital Dubai is to support the accelerator with integrated digital infrastructure, trusted data and governance frameworks for the safe and responsible use of AI. Its goal is to turn promising use cases into scalable, deployable solutions.
DESC will apply its Information Security Regulation and AI Security Policy to the programme. Security and governance are meant to be embedded at every stage, from planning and design through to operation and monitoring.
The Accelerator will use AI to identify tasks, analyse diverse datasets and model scenarios at speed. Teams will then develop and test solutions before moving them into implementation. The programme supports the UAE’s ambition to deliver the world’s most advanced government services for the AI era.
ZOOM OUT - Dubai is building shared standards across its government, and the accelerator is the latest example. In August, the Dubai Government Human Resources Department made its Workforce Productivity Measurement System a permanent framework for the emirate’s entire government. Beginning live as a pilot in 2020, the system will now cover 32 entities. The accelerator follows a similar pattern and will become the standard for government departments developing agentic AI systems. Digital Dubai will provide shared infrastructure and governance, the Dubai Electronic Security Centre sets security rules, and the Dubai AI Seal certification will sensure suppliers meet a minimum standard. Meanwhile, government entities get common standards instead of separate approaches and common access to knowledge, support and expertise to help implement.
