Lucidya secures SAR 5 million grant to scale operations
Saudi Arabia's NTDP backs Riyadh-based AI CXM startup market expansion
#SaudiArabia #funding – Riyadh-based AI customer experience management (CXM) platform Lucidya has secured a SAR 5 million ($1.3 million) grant from Saudi Arabia’s National Technology Development Program (NTDP), a government initiative under the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. The awarding of the new government grant highlights Lucidya’s position as a front-runner in the region’s rapidly expanding AI space. The funding will help Lucidya scale operations, improve its AI-powered CXM offering, and expand across regional markets. This milestone aligns with the second phase of the NTDP’s Source Tech initiative, which aims to localise application development.
SO WHAT? – Growing a national AI ecosystem with its own research and development, services and commercial products is a top priority for Saudi Arabia’s government, and Lucidya is one of the Kingdom’s biggest AI startup success stories. Lucidya not only provides a world-class customer experience management (CXM) platform, but the platform is also attuned to Arabic language and Arab culture. So, the fast-growing AI startup’s profile fits perfectly within the aims and objectives of the NTDP’s Source Tech initiative, which aims to boost local ICT services and application development.
Here are some key points about Lucidya and the new grant:
Saudi AI startup Lucidya has received a SAR 5 million ($1.3m) grant from the National Technology Development Program (NTDP), a government initiative under the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.
The funding will support additional development of Lucidya’s AI-driven customer experience management (CXM) platform, allow it to further scale its operations, and continue its expansion across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
Lucidya’s platform uses artificial intelligence to help businesses transform raw data into actionable customer insights, enhancing CX strategies in real time.
The new funding will also accelerate Lucidya’s ability to compete against international players and raise standards for customer engagement in the region.
In January, Lucidya became one of the first AI companies to be awarded the AI service provider accreditation from the Saudi Data and Artificial Intellgience Authority (SDAIA), an initiative towards improving AI reliability and maturity among AI service providers in the Kingdom.
The company serves governments, large enterprises, and SMEs across the Arab world with a fully compliant CXM suite tailored for regional needs.
The grant coincides with the second phase of the NTDP’s SourceTech, a programme to support the expansion of local Saudi software development and outsourcing services.
Lucidya is considered one of the most advanced home-grown CXM platforms in the region, combining AI, security, and data privacy into a unified solution.
In 2022, Lucidya raised USD 6 million in a Series B round led by Riyadh-based Rua Growth Fund, with participation from MAL Ventures, AlRashed Group and Venture Souq.
ZOOM OUT – Lucidya’s grant aligns with the second phase of Saudi Arabia’s SourceTech initiative, launched last year by the National Technology Development Program (NTDP) and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. With initial funding of $15 million, SourceTech focuses on expanding the Kingdom’s IT outsourcing and Arabic language software industry. The programme offers grants of up to SAR 5 million ($1.3m) to help tech firms grow within the country, aiming to create 2,000 new jobs—including more opportunities for women in tech. Phase I saw over 15 outsourcing centres launched across six regions.
