SO WHAT? - Earlier this year, Presight signed a $190 million, six-year agreement with municipal government of the City of Astana. Presight will implement an AI-powered smart city project for Astana, digitising urban infrastructure, optimisin traffic flow, and enhancing public services through AI-driven analytics. The new Astana office opening confirms that the UAE company is in Kazakhstan to stay.

Presight has opened its inaugural regional office at the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC), serving as the Central Asia hub, with over 40 local Kazakhs currently employed, demonstrating a strong commitment to local talent development. The inauguration took place during the official visit of Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.
The company will also establish an AI Command and Control Centre at the Alem AI National Center for Artificial Intelligence, creating an intelligent platform for monitoring and managing urban systems across mobility, energy, public safety, and infrastructure services.
Under Presght’s $190 million six-year smart city project with the City of Astana, it will create a digital twin of the city, with 60% of the project scope managed by Kazakhstani companies, ensuring significant local economic participation and technological empowerment.
The office's inauguration was attended by high-profile dignitaries, including UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber and Astana Mayor Zhenis Kassymbek, highlighting the strategic importance of the collaboration.
Presight aims to leverage its AI and big data analytics expertise to support Kazakhstan's digital transformation, with a focus on creating safer, more efficient, and sustainable urban environments.
ZOOM OUT - Presight's expansion into Kazakhstan is one facet of a larger strategic partnership between the UAE and Kazakhstan, with over $5 billion in agreements signed during the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's visit. These 22 agreements span critical sectors including AI, smart cities, data protection, logistics, education, and agriculture. Notable collaborations include AIQ's AI development partnership with KMG Engineering, AD Ports Group's Caspian Sea terminal project, and Al Khaleej Sugar's processing plant investment.
