UAE government bodies target 75% AI agent deployment
Dubai workshop gathers 600 government staff from Cabinet, Presidential Court

#UAE #governmen - The UAE Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Presidential Court have each set a goal of converting 75 percent of their operations and services to Agentic AI platforms within two years, exceeding the recently set 50 percent federal target. Both entities also launched new internal awards to reward staff who build effective AI agents. The commitments were announced at an Agentic AI workshop in Dubai attended by 600 employees from the two bodies. The Ministry of Cabinet Affairs launched its “Top 3 AI Agents Award” to reward agents that deliver measurable impact, with the Presidential Court launching a matching award scheme for its own staff.
SO WHAT? - The UAE government has sought to introduce new levels of accountability and a spirit of competition, as part of its programme to transform 50 percent of the federal government sector with agentic AI services. Earlier this month, 50 federal entities began a 90-day sprint to create their own specific agentic AI service, effectively starting a federal government-wide competition. Now two central government bodies have gone public with plans to exceed this target and aim to transform 75 percent of their operations with agentic AI. The UAE leadership has worked hard to instill a sense of urgency for this massive transformation programme.
KEY POINTS:
The Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Presidential Court have each pledged to convert 75% of their operations, services and specialised functions to Agentic AI models within two years, exceeding the UAE’s national 50% federal target.
The commitments were unveiled at an Agentic AI workshop organised jointly by the Presidential Court and the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs in Dubai, attended by 600 employees from both organisations.
The Ministry of Cabinet Affairs launched its Top 3 AI Agents Award to drive innovation and reward the development of AI agents delivering measurable impact across government work areas.
The Presidential Court will launch its own version of the Top 3 AI Agents Award as a dedicated incentive scheme for its employees, mirroring the ministry’s initiative.
Haitham Al Rais, Secretary-General of the National Committee for the Agentic AI Project, presented the ministry’s four-stage rollout plan, covering assessment and readiness, capability building, pilot deployment and full-scale launch of specialised AI agents.
Shamsa Jaber Al Falasi, Executive Director of Transformation and Development at the Presidential Court, presented the Court’s sovereign AI infrastructure, its Diwan GPT secure AI platform, and dedicated capability-building programmes for staff.
Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future, confirmed plans to upskill 80,000 federal government employees on Agentic AI tools and solutions.
The workshop closed with seven specialised tracks on Agentic AI delivered in partnership with global technology companies and the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), focused on building practical adoption skills among staff.
ZOOM OUT - In April, the UAE announced a world-first government initiative to deploy agentic AI across 50% of government sectors, services and operations within two years. The goal is to design agentic AI platforms to monitor changes, manage operations, execute decisions and introduce improvements in real time without human intervention. A taskforce overseen by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and chaired by Minister of Cabinet Affairs Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi was formed to drive execution, with ministers, directors general and entity heads assessed on how quickly and effectively they adopt the technology. The federal-wide initiative has already moved from federal-level planning into department-level delivery. Earlier this month, 50 federal entities each given a 90-day window to select, design and begin implementing their own agentic AI service. The government has also committed to upskilling 80,000 federal employees on agentic AI.
