Welcome to the GITEX GLOBAL 2025 live blog, where we’ll be sharing the latest news and events for the week’s programme.
The 45th annual GITEX event, GITEX GLOBAL takes place from 13-17 October at Dubai World Trade Centre. Organised by the trade centre, it stands as the world’s largest tech and AI event and features over 6,800 exhibitors, including 2,000 startups from 180 countries, alongside 1,200 investors with a combined US$1.1 trillion in assets under management (AUM) and more than 40 unicorns.

15:30 — Dubai Customs launches AI-powered cargo system
Dubai Customs’ Advance Cargo Information (ACI) system was launched at the GITEX Global 2025 in Dubai this week. The organisation says that it represents a major advancement in terms of customs security checks. See Zawya.
15:00 — Microsoft to provide local Copilot data processing in UAE
Microsoft will provide in-country data processing for Microsoft 365 Copilot in the United Arab Emirates from early 2026. The move aligns the Gen AI service with national data sovereignty and regulatory compliance. Read more here.
13:30 — Inception & AI platform Brain Co. sign MoU
Inception and Silicon Valley based AI company Brain Co. signed an MoU to co-develop next-generation artificial intelligence products and solutions. See Zawya.
12:00 — Khazna plans over 1GW capacity expansion by 2030
Khazna Data Centers is to add more than 1GW to its operational capacity over the next five years, including more than 400 megawatts of new capacity across key international markets including Saudi Arabia and Italy. Read more here.

Intel Corporation has signed an MoU with Abu Dhabi-based AI company AIREV to optimisation of AIREV’s OnDemand platform on Intel Xeon processors and Gaudi AI accelerators, and accelerate agentic AI adoption. Read more here.
