ZOOM OUT - Qeen.ai’s fundraise is one of the largest Seed rounds recorded for an AI startup in the Middle East. Multimillion dollar Seed raises for the region’s AI startups seem to be few and far between. Earlier this month Saudi Arabia-based brand-creator platform Halo.ai announced that it had raised $6 million (AED 22m) in a round led by Raed Ventures and Shorooq. Meanwhile, Dubai-based video dubbing platform Camb.ai announced a $4 million Seed raise a year ago. Qeen.ai’s $10 million round bodes will for future funding of AI startups in the region, but it’s worth noting that all these multimillion dollar Seed rounds have been for domain-specific AI platforms.
