Qualcomm to open AI Engineering Centre at HUMAIN
Facility opens December supporting Qualcomm infrastructure rollout
#SaudiArabia #innovation - US-based developer of wireless technologies and AI computing Qualcomm Technologies Inc. and Saudi Arabia’s national AI company HUMAIN announced plans to open a Qualcomm AI Engineering Centre at HUMAIN in Riyadh. The move supports the rollout of 200 megawatts of data centre capacity based on Qualcomm advanced Cloud AI solutions starting in 2026. The facility will cover advanced AI engineering capabilities including development and deployment of optimised edge-to-cloud services, customer engineering to scale AI solutions, AI model onboarding, technology and ecosystem development, and training capabilities. The centre opens in December 2025 and will be co-located with HUMAIN in Riyadh for integration and time-to-market enablement.
SO WHAT? - The engineering centre establishes Qualcomm’s direct technical presence in Saudi Arabia’s emerging AI ecosystem. The move signals the company’s commitment to supporting local AI infrastructure deployment, rather than simply supplying hardware. Co-location with HUMAIN enables rapid integration of Qualcomm’s Cloud AI hardware and software, positioning HUMAIN and Qualcomm customers to fully exploit fully optimised edge-to-cloud hybrid AI.
Here are some key points about the new engineering centre:
Qualcomm Technologies Inc. and Saudi Public Investment Fund-owned HUMAIN have announced plans to open a Qualcomm AI Engineering Centre at HUMAIN in Riyadh.
Opening in December 2025, the Riyadh centre will support the rollout of 200 megawatts of data centre capacity based on Qualcomm advanced Cloud AI solutions starting in 2026.
The engineering centre will cover advanced AI engineering capabilities that accelerate development and deployment of fully optimised HUMAIN edge-to-cloud services. It will provide customer engineering to scale best-in-class AI solutions, AI model onboarding, technology and ecosystem development, and AI training capabilities.
The facility will be co-located with HUMAIN in Riyadh for close integration and time-to-market enablement, serving as a technology and ecosystem development hub designed to streamline and accelerate deployment of advanced services based on Qualcomm AI solutions for data centres.
HUMAIN and Qualcomm previously announced a transformative collaboration to deploy advanced AI infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, delivering high-performance AI inference services at industry-leading performance per total cost of ownership in the Kingdom and globally.
The infrastructure is powered by Qualcomm’s Cloud AI hardware and software including the Qualcomm AI200 and AI250 rack solutions, designed for data centre deployment supporting inference workloads at scale across diverse AI applications and use cases.
The partnership combines Qualcomm’s four decades of technology leadership in intelligent computing with HUMAIN’s full-stack AI capabilities spanning next-generation data centres, hyper-performance infrastructure, advanced AI models and transformative solutions across industries.
The collaboration supports Saudi Arabia’s ambitions to establish itself as a global AI hub, with the engineering centre providing local technical expertise and ecosystem development capabilities to accelerate deployment of advanced data centre capacity and AI solutions in the Kingdom.
ZOOM OUT - Earlier this year Qualcomm opened a Global Engineering Centre in Abu Dhabi through strategic partnership with Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), marking an extension of the company’s global engineering programme. The facility spearheads technical innovation in artificial intelligence, data centres and industrial Internet of Things to meet growing demand for high-performance connectivity and power-efficient computing across key industries. The establishment of an Abu Dhabi engineering centre followed partnerships with UAE artificial intelligence firm G42 company Core42 and UAE-based telecommunications and technology provider e&.
